Oil export from Kazakhstan grew by 17.4% in January-May 2007/06

/REUTERS, Almaty, July 13, 07/ - Oil and gas condensate export from
Kazakhstan in January - May of 2007 grew by 17.4% compared to the similar
period of the previous year to 25.84 m. tones, Statistics agency informed on
Friday.
Volume of oil and gas condensate export in monetary expression increased
by 16.1% and reached $10.19 bn.
In year 2006 Kazakhstan increased extraction of oil with gas condensate to
65.0 m. tones from 61.9 m. in 2005.
The total volume of Kazakhstan export in the first quarter of 2007 grew by
28.3% compared to January-May of the previous year and made $17.504 bn.
The trade balance in January - May was positive in the amount of $5.67 bn.
The major positions of Kazakhstan export in natural and monetary
expressions in comparison with similar indicators of last year are given in the
table below:

The main purchasers of Kazakhstan goods within this period of time were
Italy - 16.7%, Switzerland - 15.2%, China - 12.2 and Russia - 9.9%.
