Small state shareholdings of enterprises will be put up for sale among population monthly - the Prime minister of Kazakhstan

/INTERFAX-KAZAKHSTAN, Astana, April 24, 07/ - In context of arrangements for development of Kazakhstan stock exchange small state shareholdings of enterprises will be put up for sale among population monthly, informed the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov. "We will put on the market some shares every month," he said at the press- briefing on Tuesday in Astana, while summing up results of the first 100 days of operation of the new cabinet. "We will create such conditions, - K. Massimov noted, - which will be opportune for residents, in particular physical entities, to purchase any share of recommended for sale enterprises". "Then we will not say theoretically, we will not promise aerial fancies (noone will understand and believe), we must provide real products, concrete shares to our citizens," the prime minister added. He mentioned that the first company, the part of the state shareholding of which will be put up for sale, would be Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation (ENRC), which consolidated assets of Kazchrom, Aluminum of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan electrolysis plant, Zhairemskiy mining and smelting enterprise, Sokolovsko-Sarbayskoe mining and smelting production union (SSMPU), Eurasian energy corporation, and also ENRC Logistics and ENRC Marketing & Sales. As it was informed, at the end of March the Prime Minister commissioned to the Minister of finance to prepare for sale to the population 0.8% shares of ENRC. K. Massimov also noted that the special program for training the population to deal with securities is being worked out by the Minister of Finance. As it is known, the indicated measures are taken in view of the fact that the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev, speaking the annual message to Kazakhstan people in late February, commissioned to the government to work out a range of undertakings to motivate the population to invest their savings in securities more actively.
