Results of trades in US dollar in the morning (main) session of KASE on March 7

The last circumstance had let the buyers of USD (they were grater than sellers) to show the pertinacity and pull the market down. The main volume of supply today was formed by the five participants of trades. Position of separate banks on the selling had exceeded $70 m. The degree of monopolization of demand was significant, because the head bank had exerted the dumping influence on the market. By the totals of the session it can be expected the further and persistent attempts to strengthen tenge, which as minimum till the end of current day will be successful. At the same time it should be noted that the disposition of banks on exchange trades yet do not evidence bout simple orientation of the market on the downward moving. Analysts of IRBIS are inclined to explain it by relatively small need of banks in tenge, judging by the current rates of repo "overnight". At the day trades of KASE at 12:49 p.m. dollar was quoted at 123.87/91, the last deal was made at 123.88. Volume of deals at that had reached $22.2 m. On over-the-counter market at the pointed time the dollar was quoted at 123.82/123.87. [2007-03-07]
