/KASE, December 25, 06/ - NAC Kazatomprom JSC (Almaty), bonds of which are traded in Kazakhstan stock exchange's (KASE) official "А" listing category, today spread apres release of the following content. Quotation start In the evening of December 22, 2006 on the mine on uranium extraction Akdala of Joint venture (JV) Betpak Dala LLP in Sozak district of the South- Kazakhstan oblast one thousand tons of uranium was extracted. For the first time in the world such volume of product has been extracted on one mine by method of underground downhole leaching during one year. Mine starting is fulfilled within the frames of the program of the National atomic company Kazatomprom on providing needs of the world market in uranium raw materials by means of increasing uranium extraction to 15000 tons by 2010. Confirmed production plan - 900 tons of uranium, was implemented as early as on November 25, 2006. "It is the results of work of the entire collective of JV Betpak Dala under the direction of Rifat Rizoyev, the director general. Every worker made their feasible contribution to the implementation of the goal - 1000 tons of uranium in 2006. We have far running plans - we want to become one of the three best uranium-mining enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan," said Bauirzhan Berdaliyev, the Director of the mine. Akdala is a young, developing mine. Total reserves and field resources are estimated at 14 th. tons of uranium. Commercial production of uranium started here in 2004, and already in 2005 it totaled 726 tons. In plans of JV Betpak Dala - by 2011 reach the full production capacity of 3000 tons of uranium taking into account capacity of mine under construction on the site Southern Inkay. Note: Betpak dala LLP was founded in 2004. Founders are Canadian company Urasia Energy and Kazakhstan NAC Kazatomprom JSC. Since February 14, 2006 in Betpak Dala JSC works on introduction of Management system to meet requirements МС ISO 9001: 2000 (system of quality management), OHSAS 18001:1999 (management system of professional safety and health), МС ISO 14001:2004 (system of ecologic management) have started. In November 2006 the Association on certification RUSSKIY REGISTR (Almaty) conducted a preliminary testing of existing management systems in the organization with the purpose of determining its readiness to certification to meet requirements of the international standards.
