Notes to table
Market capitalization of the company - value equals to product of quantity of
company's shares (common and preferred), being in circulation, and the
price of the last deal made on KASE on these shares.
Quantity of paid shares is defined by KASE as the difference between the
quantity of announced shares and quantity of shares on issuing and
reissuing accounts of the issuer (including nominal holding), and also
shares, which due to data of nominal holder are in ownership of the issuer.
Noticeable that KASE takes into account new value of quantity of paid
shares counting on market capitalization not on the date of excerpt making
from register, but on date of receiving of this excerpt by stock exchange
(to more accurate to say, on the date of its processing by stock exchange).
Disadvantages of this method are evident. However, application of another
method is not deemed as necessary, as KASE calculates capitalization index
daily, takes into account it at values of indexes and cannot recalculate these
indexes by back date.
Pursuant to Listing Regulation the companies, whose securities are included
into KASE's official list, are obliged, at present, to submit excerpts from
register system of shareholders at the beginning of each calendar quarter.
Each excerpt is processed by KASE either in the day of receiving or other
working day. However, many issuers present excerpts as of date fixed in it
with a significant delay (from several days till several months). Frankly
speaking, among companies submitting excerpts with deep delay as a rule
are production organizations with rarely changing authorized capital.
Under calculation of market capitalization the companies on KASE still use
the price of the last deal despite that whether this deal was market or nego.
If on any shares of any company deals were not made on KASE, and at that,
authorized bodies in the old legal field did not register all issues of these
shares, face value of the share was taken into account of capitalization. If
the issue of shares was registered in a new legal field (i.e. the meaning of
face value of a share exists only for founders of companies under fee
formation), on absence of deals on shares of this issue their market value
is equaled to zero.
Under calculation of market capitalization of the companies on the date of
ranking of deals, held on KASE with shares this day, are not taken into
consideration. In other words, capitalization index is calculated by results
of the last trades, previous to the date of ranking.
Market capitalization index is calculated in Kazakhstan tenge. It is converted
into USD at weighted average rate of tenge against USD, summed up in the
morning session of KASE in the last working day, previous to the date of
ranking.
Share of the company, % - index, obtained by referring market capitalization
of the company to summary capitalization of stock exchange's market of
shares of official list of securities of KASE and expressed in percentage. At
closing of the market on August 31 of 2006 this index made 29,227.1 m. USD.
85 shares of 61 issuers were in official list of securities of KASE.
