Kazakhmys PLC appointed chairman of the board of directors of Corporation Kazakhmys LLP

/INTERFAX, London, March 1, 06/ - Kazakhmys PLC appointed Vladimir Ni as a chairman of the board of directors of Corporation Kazakhmys LLP, who is also non-executive member of the board of directors of Kazakhmys PLC, the company's message spread on Wednesday says. 72-year old V.Ni since 1999 worked as vice-chairman of the board of directors of Corporation Kazakhmys LLP. In nearest time Kazakhmys plans to introduce new independent member in its board of directors. Meanwhile V.Ni will continue to work as a non-executive director of the board of directors of Kazakhmys PLC, however will not be considered as independent as per United Code, the message notes. Chairman of the board of directors of Kazakhmys is Vladimir Kim. At the end of the last year Kazakhmys floated in London stock exchange 26.2% of its shares and attracted 661 m. pounds. Corporation Kazakhmys specializes in production of refined copper and copper raw material and unites also Zheskazgan copper-smelting plant (former Zheskazgantsevmet JSC), Bolkhash ore mining and processing enterprise, Zhezkent OMPE and Eastern-Kazakhstan copper-chemical combine.
