KASE determined leading operators of the exchange's CS in Kazakhstan in January 2006

/IRBIS, Assel Omarova, February 2, 06/ - Kazakhstan stock exchange
(KASE) determined leading operators of the exchange's market of corporate
securities (CS) in January 2005.
Companies are ranked according to the stake of deals made by it in
aggregate gross turnover of trades (total of purchased and sold shares and
bonds). At that, only operations of CS sale and purchase at the secondary
market were taken into account, excluding work of brokers with state blocks
of shares (SBS). The position of each participant is expressed in Kazakhstan
tenge.
A total of 41 companies participated in transactions of CS sale and
purchase on KASE in January. Below is the list of ten most active operators
in descending order of their stakes in total deals volume (companies'
headquarters are in Almaty, unless otherwise specified). The stake of these
operators in January was 85.3% of turnover of corresponding sector of
exchange market.

Newcomer of top ten relative to December 2005 became Bank TuranAlem
JSC, KG Securities JSC, APF of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan JSC, Company
CAIFC JSC, Global Securities JSC (Kazakhstan) and Kazkommertsbank
JSC, they have replaced Almaty Investment Management JSC (Almaty, the
second position in December), Central-Asian Trust Company JSC (Almaty,
the fourth position in December), Temirbank JSC (Almaty, the fifth position
in December), Pervyi Brokerski Dom JSC (Almaty, the eighth position in
December), Kazkommerts Invest JSC (the ninth position in December) and
Alliance Bank JSC (Almaty, the tenth position).
