Alliance bank till the end of the year intends to issue five-year eurobonds and to borrow one more syndicated loan

/INTERFAX-KAZAKHSTAN, Almaty, July 5, 05/ - Kazakhstan Alliance bank
for the second half year planned to issue five-year eurobonds and intends
during the same period to borrow one more syndicate loan.
This was informed by director of international relations and borrowings
department of Alliance bank Almira Akhmetkarimova at press conference on
Tuesday in Almaty.
Mentioned operations bank intends to execute in the frame of plan of
borrowings at external capital markets accepted for 2005 in the volume up to
$500 m.
"For the second half of the year we plan to borrow one more syndicate loan
and depending upon terms at external capital markets we plan to make one
more issue of eurobonds", - she said.
Along with this she added, "if debut issue of bank's eurobonds was three-
year, the next is planned to be five-year".
"Thus, we are sure, that till the end of this year we will borrow announced
$500 m. due to various instruments, including issue of eurobonds", -
department director told.
Meanwhile exact terms ad volumes of new syndicated loan and second
issue of eurobonds A.Akhmetkarimova refused to inform.
In this connection participated at press conference bank's chairman of the
board Zhomart Yertayev noted: "It is difficult now to structure and say what
ratio will be for eurobonds and syndicated loan. Everything will depend upon
situation at external markets."
In the course of press conference evaluation of previous placement of
Alliance bank's eurobonds and syndicated loan was given.
"These transactions certify about high level of trust to Alliance bank not only
inside the country, but also at external markets", - noted Zh.Yertayev.
"This says about big trust to bank. This success was also due to bank's
growing indicators", - added chairman of the board Citibank Kazakhstan
Daniel Connelly, also participated at press conference.
"Team of Alliance bank completed remarkable work. Despite big number of
recently placed bonds from Kazakhstan at international capital markets, they
(Alliance bank - IF-K) could successfully place eurobonds for $150 m., and
interest, which was shoed towards them, was high. And we in HSBC Bank
confidently look to future development of relations with Alliance bank", -
announced in his turn at the same press conference chairman of the board
of HSBC Bank Kazakhstan Ray Webber.
As it was informed, Alliance bank in June of this year placed among
institutional and private investors from Europe and Asia debut three-year
eurobonds for $150 m. Bonds with coupon and 9% yield were placed by
nominal value. Leading joint manager of transaction were HSBC and JP
Morgan.
Besides, in May of this year Alliance bank borrowed syndicated loan for the
amount $80 m. This loan was borrowed for one year with prolongation option
for the same period by the rate of interest LIBOR +2.20% APR. Organizers
of loan were Citibank N.A. and ING Bank N.V.
Alliance bank is one of the ten big banks of the republic.
