KazMunayGas and Naftogas of Ukraine to sign an agreement about oil and gas production in Kazakhstan

/Kazakhstan today, June 1, 05/ - Before the end of June of this year
KazMunayGas JSC и NJSC Naftogas of Ukraine intend to an agreement
about oil and gas production in Kazakhstan. Alexey Ivcheno first deputy
ministry of fuel and energy of Ukraine, head of executive committee of NJSC
Naftogas of Ukraine said about it to journalists in Aktau.
He says positions on oil and gas production in Kazakhstan will be
determined in the agreement. "There will be signed an agreement about
giving to Ukraine a concrete quantity of fields for exploration, or already
explored fields", - Ivchenko said.
Alexandr Kiselev Deputy chairman of executive committee of NJSC
Naftogas of Ukraine in February of 2005 in Kiev declared about plans on
foundation of a joint venture together with Caspian Gas Corporation, an
assignee of American International Petroleum Corporation (AIPC), which is
now exploring Shagyrly-Shomyshty field, for this field development.
Ivchenko also says on May 31 negotiations with the governing body of
KazMunayGas were held, during which there was achieved an agreement
that within a week Ukrainian specialists would be sent to Kazakhstan, and
Kazakhstan specialists - to Ukraine for preparation of the list of possible
fields for exploration and production of oil and gas.
