/REUTERS, Almaty, Oljas Auezov, December 14, 04/ - Three Kazakhstan
banks - ATF, CenterCredit and Alliance - and two non-banking organizations
examine the possibility of buying Nauryz-bank, in which Financial supervision
agency set conservation mode in November, said the agency's head.
"Besides the banks, potential investors are Grain union (the union of
agricultural companies) and Moscow organization Euroasian Finance
Limited", - said Bulat Jamishev at the press-conference on Tuesday.
As he says, investors should represent their proposals before December 20.
It requires about $30 m. to make the bank conform to standards. Besides,
tax authorities lay claims on Nauryz-bank for about KZT1.0 bn. (about $7.7
m.), which the bank is calling in question in the court.
"If there were a proposal, in which a big bank would wish to join Nauryz-
bank, it would be the optimal proposal for us", - said Jamishev.
ATF-bank and CenterCredit are the fourth and the fifth Kazakhstan banks by
the size of assets.
