Kazakhstan railroad will get a $122 m. loan from ABN AMRO - MFA

/REUTERS, Almaty, November 8, 04/ - National railroad company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy will get a loan from ABN AMRO Bank in the amount of $122 m. for purchasing equipment, says the message of press-service of Kazakhstan ministry of foreign affairs. "Agreements about giving a loan to Kazakhstan Temir Zholy in the amount of $122 m. by ABN-AMRO for purchasing 200 modernized sets for 100 diesel- electrical locomotives from General Electric was signed in Washington", - says the message. The US eximbank acted as the guarantor of the agreement. Recently ABN AMRO Bank acted as the lead-manager of another syndicated loan for Kazakhstan Temir Zholy - $70 m. for four years. American General Electric, which has been cooperating with Kazakhstan Temir Zholy since 2003, has already delivered 54 such the modernized sets. Kazakhstan Temir Zholy carries out more than 68% of total cargo turnover and over 57% of passenger turnover in the republic. [2004-11-08]
