Aluminium of Kazakhstan increased alumina output by 3% in January - September of 2004

/REUTERS, Almaty, October 6, 04/ - The only alumina producer in Central
Asia - Aluminium of Kazakhstan OJSC - in January-September of 2004
increased alumina output by 3% relative to similar period of last year up to
1,091 m tonnes, informed the press-service of Eurasian industrial
association, in the staff of which the venture is.
Aluminium of Kazakhstan does not output aluminium producing only raw stuff
for it - alumina. In 2003 it produced 1.416 million tonnes of alumina, major
part was exported to Russia's aluminium plants.
The staff of Eurasian industrial association also comprises TNC Kazchrome
(unites Aktyubinsk amd Aksu plants of ferroalloys and Don ore mining and
processing combine), Sokolovsko-Sarbayskoye ore mining and processing
amalgamation (SSOMPA), Eurasian energy corporation (EEC) in Pavlodar
oblast and coal open cast Shubarkol Komir JSC in Karaganda oblast.
