Companies of Mangistau region to extract 14.4 mn tones of oil in 2004

/Kazakhstan today, January 12, 04/ - In 2004 oil companies of Mangistau region are going to extract 14.4 mn tones of oil. The strategic development plan of Mangistau oblast for 2004 to 2006 mentions this fact, a correspondent of KZ- today reports. At oilfields of Mangistaumunaigas OJSC, an underground repair of 5,200 oil wells and capital repair of 630 wells will be made. Throughout the year, 35 to 40 wells will be placed in operation from drilling stage, 160 to 170 of exploitation wells from sleeping and 60 wells from fill-in stages. In addition, throughout the year 35 to 40 wells of the company will be switched to mechanized exploitation. At 70 oil wells hydraulic fracturing of formation will be executed. Uzenmunaigas OJSC plans to drill 160 of exploitation and 100 fill-in wells. It also plans to repair 3,400 wells including 2060 exploitation wells. At last, the company intends to conduct about 2,200 downhole logging. By 2010, a rehabilitation process of Uzen oil filed finishes; this being the case, the volume of oil production by Uzenmunaigas OJSC will increase to 7 mn tones by 2005. Karazhanbasmunai OJSC is going to extract 2,110 th tones of oil in 2004, and 2,500 th tones in 2006. Marginal increase of oil production will be increased at Severnye Buzachi and Dunga oilfields as well. Construction of Tolkyn, Borankol and Tasbulat oil fields facilities are planned to be finished. In areas near Bautino settlement, the development of support base of sea operations of Agip KCO will be continued. The volume of production by oil and gas industry in 2004 will equal KZT307.5 bn in terms of 2003 prices or 106.9%. The share of a named industry in total volume of oblast's industrial production will equal 90.1%. By the end of 2005 total volume of oil production will equal 16.6 mn.
