US Eximbank is interested in extension of cooperation with Kazakhstan

/Kazakhstan today, October 13, 03/ - US Eximbank is interested in extension of cooperation with Kazakhstan and attracting of American investments to the republic. This statement was made by chairman of the board of directors of Eximbank Philip Merrill on October 10 during the meeting with Kazakhstan ambassador in Washington Kanat Saudabayev. A correspondent of KZ-today was informed about it by the press-service of Kazakhstan embassy in the USA. During the meeting the sides also discussed the current condition and perspectives of cooperation between Kazakhstan and US Eximbank - federal body, which deals with increasing of volumes of trade-economic cooperation of the USA with other countries by presenting export guarantees and credits at low interest. Saudabayev informed the interlocutor about the condition and perspectives of social-economic development of Kazakhstan and about new spheres for foreign capital out of raw stuff sector, the opened Strategies of industrial and innovative development till 2015. It was noted during the meeting that projects directed towards development of transport and infrastructure, new technologies were especially interesting for the US Eximbank. "We are interested in intimate cooperation with Kazakhstan and want to be a participant of the stable economic growth in the republic, involve more American companies into investing of diversified spheres of its economy", - noted Merrill. According to results of the meeting there was achieved agreement about organization of visit of the US Eximbank's head to Kazakhstan in the nearest future. It will be the first visit of this US authority to the republic. Merrill expressed his hope that the visit would stimulate coming of new American companies with serious projects to promising branches of Kazakhstan economy. [2003-10-13]
