Kazakhstan electric power holding Samruk-Energy is working on the construction
of a new power unit at the Ekibastuz GRES-2 and is restoring the last of the 8
power units of the Ekibastuz GRES-1.
"In the context of the prevailing high growth rates of electricity consumption
in Kazakhstan, the successful implementation of these projects will
significantly increase the reliability of energy supply to consumers by
creating reserves of electrical power," said Serik Tyutebayev, Managing
Director for Production and Assets at Samruk-Energy JSC during his working
