Supervision of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan has been changed

/Almaty bureau REUTERS, Jan 8, 02/ - Supervision of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan, one of three largest banks of the country, has been changed in connection with taken place in November of 2001 privatization of 33.33- percent state block of shares of the bank, informed the bank. In place of Kairat Smagulov who was on a position of the head of the directors council from January 04 Anvar Sadenov who was previously the head of the bank board has been appointed as acting as the head. Former chairman of the board of Almaty merchandise bank Kairat Satylganov by the decision of the board of directors has been appointed as acting as the head of the board of the Halyk Bank. New composition of the board of directors is going to be elected at general meeting of shareholders on January 29,2002. State block of shares of Halyk Bank was bought by the consortium consisting of Mangistaumunaigas OJSC for $14 million at the auction on November 20,2001. The consortium consists also of a range of limited liability partnerships: Mercury, Raimbek-botlers, Rakhimzhan, merchandise company Altyn-Taraz. The largest on assets size Kazakhstan KAZKOMMERTSBANK and consortium Kazakhstan investor, which joined bank CenterCredit and Temirbank and other companies also took part in the auction on a sale of state block of shares.
