From January through August crude production in Kazakhstan increased by 20.5%, oil products by 18.6%

/IRBIS, Sept 19, 01/ - Great Silk Road World News Agency with reference to Kazakhstan's statistical agency, informs that over the past eight months, production of oil products increased by 18.6%, including motor oil by 36.1%, gas-oils by 15.6%, hydrocarbon liquefied gases 2.4 times. Chemical production rose 1.5 fold. Metallurgy industry showed the increased production of electric steel, tantalum, chrome, refined gold, zinc and copper. Production of crude grew by 20.5% to 23.4m tonnes, natural gas by 9.1% to 8.1bn cu meters, copper ore by 6.5% to 22.7m tonnes, lead-zinc ore by 3.6% to 3.8m tonnes. Kazakhstan produced 1,324.6bn tenge worth of commodities over eight months of 2001; the figure is 14.1% above the same period of 2000. The production increased in all regions of Kazakhstan with the highest indicator registered in the regions of Atyrau (24.7%), Aktobe and Mangystau (17.2%), and the cities of Almaty and Astana (22% and 17.3% respectively).
