"KazTransOil" JSC is currently conducting the construction of pumping station
"663 km" of oil pipeline Uzen - Atyrau - Samara. The construction is carried out
as a part of the second stage of the second phase of construction of the
Kazakhstan-China pipeline system, and is aimed at increasing the capacity of
Atyrau-Kenkiyak and Kenkiyak-Kumkol sections of the pipeline system up to 20
million tons per year. In accordance with the project's design the pumping
station "663 km" will be used as the head pumping station of Kenkiyak -Atyrau
pipeline.
For the first time in the construction of oil pipelines of "KazTransOil" JSC the
vapor recovery system will be used for the recovery of volatile organic
compounds (VOCs). The manufacturer of the system, installed at pumping
station "663 km" is "OTC" group of companies (Kaliningrad, Russia). The process
is based on the well-known technology of adsorption in the layer of activated
charcoal and regeneration of activated charcoal using a vacuum to remove the
hydrocarbons in the vapor stream, thereby allowing to release clean air to the
atmosphere through coal filter.
This technology is well proven in the world as the best solution for oil and
petroleum products reservoirs, road and rail tankers, and marine tankers.
Application of this technology, in addition to high energy efficiency, allows to
eliminate the loss of light hydrocarbon, maintain crude oil quality, prevent
harmful emissions.
