BTA Bank (Kazakhstan) increases small business crediting market share by 7.8 % in Karaganda oblast in January-February 2009

/KASE, April 1, 09/ - BTA Bank (Almaty), securities of which are listed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), provided KASE with a press release: Quotation beginning In January and February 2009 BTA Bank its increased small business crediting market share in Karaganda oblast by 7.8 % and as on March 1, 2009 constitutes for 39.73 %. At that, the small and middle business loan portfolio of BTA Bank in Karaganda oblast currently equals to KZT40.4 bn. On the whole in the period January 1, 09 through March 1, 2009 BTA Bank increased its small and middle business market share in regions from 17.6 % up to 18.4 %. The small and middle business loan portfolio of the bank as on March 31, 2009 reached KZT223.3 bn. Besides, from January 1, 2009 through today BTA Bank issued 5,200 credits to small and middle businesses for a total of KZT58.5 bn., including Karaganda oblast bank units that issued 1,100 credits for a total of KZT12.97 bn. Currently, BTA Bank is servicing over 52,000 small and middle businesses, of which 5,300 in Karaganda oblast. This information was voiced at a meeting of Chairman of Management Board of BTA Bank A. Saydenov with mayor of Karaganda oblast N. Nigmatulin, and representatives of the Fund Damu, Business Union Atameken and regional business associations. "BTA Bank was selected as the main operator on distribution of state financing within the frames of support of small and middle businesses. According to the general agreement between Fund of national wellbeing Samruk-Kazyna, BTA Bank and Fund for business development Damu, the bank was allocated KZT22 bn., which will be used for financing of new projects and refinancing of former loans", - A. Saydenov informed at the meeting. Within the frames of the program, the bank head said, as on March 31, 2009, BTA Bank used KZT13.7 bn. (871 credits) or 62.6 % of allocated funds. In particular, 730 credits for a total of KZT6.5 bn. were issued and 141 credits for a total of KZT7.3 bn. were approved for issue. In Karaganda oblast KZT2.57 bn. (123 credits) were reclaimed or 68 % of allocated funds. 87 credits for a total of KZT1.2 bn. were issued and 36 credits for a total of KZT1.4 bn. were approved. During the visit to Karaganda oblast A.
