The head of Ministry of Finance - Since year 2009 to impose duty on oil export of all subsoil users, including those with stable tax regime in contracts

/INTERFAX-KAZAKHSTAN, Astana, May 22, 08/ -.Kazakhstan minister of Finance Bolat Zhamishev doesn't exclude the possibility to introduce custom duties on oil for all subsoil users, including those with stable tax regime in contracts. "In our country, the duty is introduced with restrictions. It means, this duty doesn't concern those with stability in contracts. Since next year, in accordance with new Tax Code this exception is supposed to be excluded" - he said, answering the questions of deputies of Senate of Parliament on plenary meeting on Thursday. Earlier, B. Zhamishev informed, that custom duty will be paid by domestic and foreign subsoil users "excluding those who is working according to UPSH and who has stability on export duties in its contracts". "In the number of companies, which are under the duty, KazMunayGas is included" - the minister dais, adding that export duty is not concern Tengizshevroil (which mines Tengiz and Korolevskoe) and Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (which mines Karachaganak), "in which contracts there is stability". In Kazakhstan the customs duty for export of oil is introduced on May 17. The rate of custom duty for crude oil export was determined at the amount of $109.91 per ton and $27.43 per ton for payers of the rent tax on exported crude oil and gas condensate. Meanwhile, the rate of the customs duties for export of heavy distillate (liquid fuel), coke and bitumen is established now at a rate of $82.2 per ton. Earlier in government resolution it was indicated that, the rates of customs duty on exported crude oil from Kazakhstan are not imposed during export of crude oil by subsoil users, extracted by them according to contracts for subsoil usage, provided with release from payments of mentioned customs, is indicated in the document.
