Kazakhmys considers an opportunity of coming out to New York stock exchange

/INTERFAX-KAZAKHSTAN, Zhezkazgan, June 30, 06/ - Copper corporation Kazakhmys considers an opportunity of its shares offering at New York stock exchange. "We are planning it in future", - the head of corporation, Vladimir Kim informed in press-briefing on Friday in Zhezkazgan, answering the Interfax- Kazakhstan agency's question". At that, he noted that this is the question of long-term perspective. "If we need to increase the number of shares in future, because of lack of cash funds and loans at one moment, - then we will be forced to issue new shares, to sell them. Then for attracting of new investors we need alternative online floors. Only for this purpose we say for ourselves that we will ponder over New York stock exchange", - Kim V. said. At that, he reminded of that by the moment of IPO holding at London stock exchange 70% of offered shares have been acquired by investors from Europe, including England, and 30% - from the USA. However, at present, he emphasized that investors in the USA have already possessed 60% of corporation's shares. "I.e. now Americans became enhancing the share in the company Kazakhmys - Kim V. noted. At the same time, due to his words, corporation works over introducing of these shares at Kazakhstan stock exchange (KASE). "This is the question of several weeks. (...). Practically we have already done the whole actual work", - he noted in this connection. "For us, - Kim V. noted, - the principal is the question that we have quotations both in London and in Kazakhstan. We will think about the third online floor later, maybe, it will be New York". Corporation Kazakhmys is focused on refined copper and copper production and combines Zhezkazgan copper-smelting plant (the former Zhezkazgantsvetmet JSC), Balkhash ore mining group, Zhezkentsk OMPE, East-Kazakhstan copper chemical group and other objects. As it is known, at the end of last year corporation Kazakhmys PLC (company, specially registered in London for introducing shares of Kazakhmys in the international market) offered 26.2% of its shares and borrowed 661 m. pounds (sterling) at London stock exchage.
