Kazakhtelecom and KazTransCom from Kazakhstan will take part in construction of optic-fiber line of Baku-Aktau- AIC

/INTERFAX-KAZAKHSTAN, Almaty, May 30,06/ - Kazakhstan companies
such as Kazakhtelecom and KazTransCom will take part in construction of
optic-fiber line of Baku-Aktau, Deputy chairman of state agency on
informatization and communication of Kazakhstan (AIC), Rizat Nurshabekov
informed.
"In principle, companies which would take part (in this project - I - K)
from our part, we determined. These are KazTransCom and Kazakhtelecom, - he
informed in press briefing in Almaty on Tuesday.
At that, R. Nurshabekov notes that specified project is still on approval
between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, and two parties are interested in its
implementation, - he emphasized. It is supposed that communication cable
will be laid on the bottom of Caspian Sea.
"We want to carry out fully this matter, - Deputy chairman of AIC continued. -
Besides, Azerbaijan party - to carry out the matter with Georgia and Turkey
that we could have an opportunity to come out for European countries
through these countries".
"We are interested in coming out for Europe. If on the assumption of we stop
on Azerbaijan, then it's not interesting for Kazakhstan. We need exactly
transit", - he emphasized.
As it has been informed the implementation of this project will allow
connecting Central Asian region with Azerbaijan, Turkey and European
countries by new, alternative route and promoting further to enhancing of
transit potential of Kazakhstan.
